Though he stopped playing in bands over twenty years ago to concentrate on his career as a visual artist, Ross Sinclair has always retained his love of making music, often utilising it in various shows and performances. For this exhibition at the duchy, he will release a new album of music which has been developed over the last few years in his home studio. To accompany the album, Sinclair will construct an exhibition that reflects the story of each song in a visual and melodic reverie.
To coincide with the exhibition, Sinclair will be performing I Tried to Give Up Drinking with Guitars instead of God at The Poetry Club on Saturday 6 April, supporting Teen Canteen. Full details and tickets available here.
I Tried to Give up Drinking with Guitars instead of God is part of Objective, a citywide conversation on sculpture initiated by the Gallery of Modern Art.
